If you are not interested in having Quicken on your computer, the best thing to do is uninstall it if not it will only eat up on vital computer space. This could further create complications with other files that are stored on your computer. If you are trying to upgrade this financial software or you no longer need it, and then you might as well uninstall it completely from your computer. However most of the times uninstalling it could be a major problem, this is because some of its files could either be corrupt or its association with one another file could make uninstalling difficult.

Even the add/remove program that is the default windows applet is not useful in this case. Most of the times you receive error messages that are equally mindboggling as a complex finance sheet. Or you could leave behind a few files that are not needed. In case you delete another file that is not related to Quicken you might have to reformat your entire computer.
