The Bitdefender anti virus program protects your computer against being corrupt by viruses and any other spyware that could attack your registry while surfing the net or accessing any unknown email. There could be a reason for you to uninstall this anti virus. One of the reasons could be because it does not perform to the standards you would expect.

In this case, it is imperative that you uninstall the anti virus before you can install your computer with another anti virus. However, it has been noticed that while trying to uninstall the anti virus you could get an error message and advised to re-install it. Once installed, trying to uninstall the program will give you the same message.

There is another option of uninstalling the antivirus and that is through the classic Add/Remove Programs option. However, this does not live up to your expectation since the complete program is not uninstalled.

There is a tool provided by Bidefender that will help uninstall the anti virus. This is available to be downloaded from the website. You will have to select the kind of uninstaller you would have to download, i.e. the 32 bit or the 64 bit. Once the uninstaller has been downloaded, it will remove the complete program from the system. However, there have been issues with this method as well. There have been instances when the system reflects an error while trying to install the uninstaller.

There is a method of uninstalling the Bitdefender manually. For this you will have to make sure that all its services are uninstalled:

BitDefender Local Manager;
BitDefender Update Server;
BitDefender Scan Server;
BitDefender Communicator;
BitDefender Server;
BitDefender HTTP Server;
BitDefender Virus Shield;
Once that is done, you will have to uninstall the following Key files from your registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareSOFTWIN;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareSOFTWIN;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesXCOMM;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesBDLM;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesVSSERV;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesFILESpy;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesREGSpy;

You will also have to delete the following form the Registry editor

However, going through this entire process can be tedious and this is where the role of a third party uninstaller like the Perfect Uninstaller comes into play.

The Perfect Uninstaller is compatible with both the 32 as well as the 64 bit. Secondly, there is no need to worry about being technically sound as the uninstall process can be done by a layman.

The Perfect Uninstaller removes all files from the registry and what’s even better is that this happens within a short span of time. This tool can forcibly remove corrupt programs and clean all the registry entries and drivers left behind by the program.

The Prefect Uninstaller is the preferred tool for various reasons.

It is an expert when it comes to force uninstall on any computer. They can remove all kinds of files that you could not do through the Add/Remove Programs feature. The tool also has the capability of restoring your computer registry. The Perfect Uninstaller is also very user friendly and you do not have to be technically sound to go through the uninstall process.
